Below is a brief history of Yearout Mechanical, Inc. We are a family owned business that has grown since 1963 from five employees and one truck to over 400 employees and more than 80 trucks! Yearout Mechanical had humble beginnings in our small 3 room office building to our current 85,000 sf office/shop/warehouse buildings we occupy today. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and are looking to the future for our continued quality and growth.
- 1963 - Bob and Joan Yearout purchase the company
- 1964 - Kim Yearout joined Bob and Joan in the business
- 1966 - Purchased site at 3228 Los Arboles NE
- 1966 - Signatory to the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local #412
- 1981 - Kevin Yearout joined the company becoming a Local #412 apprentice working in the field
- 1983 - Bryan Yearout joined the company becoming a Local #412 apprentice working in the field
- 1984 - Bob Yearout retired
- 1985 - Purchased sheet metal company and became signatory with Sheet Metal Workers Local #49
- 1985 - Sheet metal fab shop went into production
- 1995 - Kevin Yearout became president of Yearout Mechanical, Inc.
- 1995 - Started high purity process piping division
- 2001 - Kim Yearout retired
- 2001 – Began Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
- 2001 - Pipe fab shop went into production
- 2004 – Moved to new building at 8501 Washington NE. Over 60,000 sf of office and fabrication space to allow for company growth.
- 2007 – Construction of new 25,0000sf warehouse at 8501 Washington NE to expand our warehouse and environment controlled storage for material. New - 2007 Yearout warehouse expansion project! Download video in WMV format (this is a large file so please be patient)
- 2007 – Named as Best Places to Work in New Mexico for large companies by New Mexico Business Weekly!
- 2008 – Expanded Sheet Metal shop in existing building where warehouse used to be and added new sheet metal shop equipment
- 2008 – Build out at 8501 Washington NE to add office space for growth
- 2008 - Named as Best Places to Work in New Mexico for large companies by New Mexico Business Weekly for 2nd year in a row!
- 2009 - Recipient of Samaritan Counseling Center's 10th Annual New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards.
- 2009 - Yearout purchases Linc franchise rights and sets up Yearout Service, LLC. Our commercial service department.
- 2010 - Yearout fills need in the complex energy building/retrofit needs by establishing our Sustainable Solutions department.
- 2011 - Yearout Mechanical partners with UNM School of Engineering on the "Building Energy Retrofit Testbed (B.E.R.T)" program to help identify and quantify opportunities for improving energy efficiency in existing commercial buildings.
