Project Description

The mechanical systems were extensive and the controls were relatively complicated
The project was completed on time and with no injuries or incidents
Project was approximately 80,000 square feet
A two-story office/laboratory building with a partial basement. The building was served with
underground steam and chilled water from a remote source. Air handlers in the penthouse provided heating and cooling.

Unique Technical Challenges Related to Project

The project presented several technical challenges; the mechanical systems had to be coordinated very closely with structure, electrical, fire protection and other crafts. The specifications and requirements for the mechanical system were relatively stringent and the system was installed in accordance with Sandia Laboratories inspectors and the project documents.
