Project Description:
Sandia Preparatory School was a design/build school project with new construction of 20 classrooms, library expansion and a new student center. Yearout Mechanical, Inc. provided complete plumbing and HVAC mechanical systems for this design/build project. This project consisted of 8 roof top units that were combination heating and cooling, 4 new bathrooms, one boiler and one water heater. The new Barbara Young Simms Classroom Building houses twenty new, larger classrooms on two stories, including workspaces for teachers. Construction is also complete on the new Russell Student Center and the expansion of the Paul Saunders Library. The new Russell Student Center provides flexible dining space for 300 students, a full kitchen, offices, an art exhibition space, and a conference room. The library expansion adds new space for technology access and support, a new library classroom, and a new technology classroom, while recapturing additional space for quiet study.
