Project Description:
The new V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho is the largest LEED Certified project of its kind in the State of New Mexico. The new high school will accommodate 2,350 students and is 444,100 square feet on 140 acre site completed with track and field athletic facilities. Yearout installed site utilities, process piping, plumbing and HVAC. This project utilized a ground source geothermal heating and cooling system, with 640 wells 305 feet deep. The well fields are used for condenser water for the heat pumps. The facility also utilizes Trane heat pumps, Aaon rooftop units and each building contains an energy recovery unit pre-conditioning the outside air. The site posed a unique challenge, multiple buildings going up at the same time on a very spread out job site.
