This project was for a new 300mm semiconductor facility for Intel Corporation, built in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The addition to Fab 11 made it the largest computer chip manufacturing plant in the world. The scope involved the retrofit of existing systems in the Central Utility Building and Fab 11 South Facility, along with the construction of the new Fab 11 Facility. The major challenge on this project was the coordination of multiple trades that had been individually contracted to perform work on the project. Each firm was able to successfully communicate with the others, which in turn, allowed the project to be completed on-time and under budget.
