UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, located in the Rio Rancho, New Mexico City Center, has 200,000 square foot acute care space, 72 available inpatient beds, two 24-bed medical/surgical units, 12 intensive care beds and 12 senior behavioral health beds. The facility also includes six surgical suites and 13 emergency medicine beds, two of which are equipped for behavioral health-crisis intervention technology. The facility is served by hospital-based, UNM Faculty Physicians in the areas of Radiology, Pathology, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry, and Hospitalists.
The UNM Sandoval Medical Center was a 100% BIM project. Yearout took the lead in the BIM process and hosted all BIM coordination meetings weekly during design and construction. We installed four pipe chilled and hot water systems, seven rooftop air handling units, 350 VAV boxes, special exhaust systems for operating and isolation rooms, a central utility plant and more.
